Mr. Daniel J Dicaterino

Daniel J. DiCaterino Sr. of McKay Rd. died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday January 27, 2013. He was 74 years old. Born on December 8, 1938 in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of the late Vincenzo James DiCaterino and Mary Robilloto DiCaterino. Mr. DiCaterino proudly served his country in the United State Marine Corp from Daniel owned the Dajim Corporation with his father for many years before he was employed as a plant manager for Transworld Fixture Company in Johnstown, NY for over 15 years, retiring in 2008. He donated many hours to community youth organizations for several years. His life was centered around his children and grandchildren. He loved attending all of his grandchildren’s activities. Somehow he was able to fit every one of their special events into his schedule. He also enjoyed the company of his cousins and close friends. He exemplified the definition of a “Dad” and will be missed greatly every day. Daniel is predeceased by his parents and a sister Janice Picinic. Survivors include his wife Antoinette DiCaterino, two sons, Daniel “Jamie” DiCaterino Jr., wife Pilar and their children Bianca, Vincenzo, Lola, Alexander, Mariano and great grandson Julian. Kristian DiCaterino and wife Jessica and their sons Anthony and Dominic. A daughter Deborah R. Flint and husband Joseph and their children Ashley (Ryan), Brittany, Ellis, Everett, Harrison, Audrey, Spencer, Natalie, Helen and Jude. A nephew Matthew Picinic. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:15 am on Thursday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel 30 Saint John St. Amsterdam, NY 12010. Family and friends may call from 4-8 pm at the Amsterdam Funeral Chapel 13 Belmont St. Amsterdam, NY 12010 Burial will follow at the Mt.
