Edward A. Winney
December 4, 1955 - May 10, 2022
Edward Albert Winney, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, after a long battle with cancer, at the age of 66. Ed was born in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. on December 4, 1955. One of six, he was the son of the late Helen A. Turner. Ed graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 1975 and went on to Wagner College where he met Jeri Mack, whom he married in 1977. He is survived by their three loving children, Tiffany M. (Donald), Geri L., and Allan M. (Jessica). He was the proud Pop Pop of Jabari, Kalani, Kaileaira, Saniya, Saadia, Silas and Avery. He is also survived by siblings Frederick “Ricky,” Nazahah “Maxine,” Donna, and Melvin, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends. He is predeceased by his eldest brother Vincent. Larger than life, Ed was the mayor everywhere he went and definitely had the gift of gab. As he'd say, he "could sell water to a whale," and turned that natural talent into a successful career in sales, working in territories on the east and west coasts. He was beloved by all who knew him and will be sorely missed. Private services will be held at a later date.
