Lauretta Fitzgerald, 78, passed away on June 8, 2021, after a brief illness with her loving son Guy and his girlfriend Tonya by her side at her home in Greenfield Center, New York. She was born March 9, 1943, in Schenectady, New York to the late Philip and Anna Mae Olszewski. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Raymond (Fitzy) Fitzgerald; sister, Mary Ellen Nichols, and brother, Philip Olszewski. She, along with her sister Mary Ellen Nichols, owned and ran Anthony’s Country Kitchen Diner on Church Street in Saratoga Springs, New York for many years. Her interests included floating in her pool, family, and friend LCR game nights, shopping and shenanigans with her dear friend Rosie Merrills and country music (especially Keeper of the Stars by Tracy Byrd). Lauretta is survived by her son Guy Fitzgerald (Tonya), nephews Scott Olszewski (James); Philip Olszewski, Jr. (Stacy), Anthony Nichols, Michael Nichols (Jennifer); Vincent Nichols (Kelly), and John (JJ) Nichols (Casey), her brother-in-law Jerry Fitzgerald (Shirley) and several great-nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Lauretta’s life at her home on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 2:00 pm. The family would like to give special thanks to Community Hospice and Tonya Williamson for taking such amazing care of Lauretta during her illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Lauretta’s honor to The Community Hospice Foundation, Gift Processing Center, 310 S. Manning Blvd, Albany, NY 12208.
