Saratoga Springs, NY On September 4, 2013, Walter Calvin Robinson passed away at his home in Saratoga Springs, NY. He was 88 years old. Walter was a veteran of World War II and recipient of the Purple Heart and Good Conduct Medal. He fought in many battles including D Day and the Battle of the Bulge. He was the son of Albert and Elsie Robinson of Bloomfield, NJ and the youngest of their four children. During his career as a Special Agent for Empire Mutual, he was awarded the “Field Man of the Year” designation. He had a reputation as a knowledgeable and responsive resource for many Insurance Agents throughout Northern and Central NJ. Walter also served as a volunteer Fireman in Pequannock, NJ for Engine Company No. 2. Known locally, after retirement, he was an active member of the Golden K Seniors of Saratoga Springs and enjoyed giving his time to make a difference. Walter’s great passion for the outdoors and adventure led him to take 9 trips by mule down the Grand Canyon. Walter is survived by his sister Charlotte Beers, nephews Ken Beers of Saratoga Springs, and Paul W. Robinson of Baltimore, MD, nieces Cindy Karst of Bethesda, MD and Pam Beers of Saratoga Springs, great nieces Jessica Renzi of Malta and Kirsten Deitz of West Hartford, CT, and Great Grand niece Cadence Renzi, also of Malta. A memorial service will be held at the Saratoga National Cemetery on September 23rd at 10:30am.
